| NEW CUSTOMS HOUSE’S REGULATIONS |
APPLICABLE DISPOSITIONS FOR TOURISTS.
They enjoy the benefits picked up in the Convention, on Customs Facilities for the Tourism, for that that besides the clothes and other new or used articles that a tourist reasonably can need for his personal use they will be considered, also as belongings (exempt of the payment of rights), anyone of the following articles, on condition that he is considered that they are in use and with the obligation that they are exported when the tourist abandons the country, because these articles are admitted as temporary import.
- personal jewels.
- a photographic camera with twelve badges or five movie roll.
- a film camera of small milimetraje with two movie rolls.
- a couple of binocular twins.
- portable music's instrument.
- a portable gramophone with ten disks.
- a portable appliance for the recording of the sound.
- a receiver of portable radio.
- a receiver of portable television.
- a portable typewriter.
- boy's car.
- a campaign store and the team to camp.
- articles for sports (a game of gears for the fishing, a bicycle without motor, a canoe or kayak of less than 5,50 meters long, a couple of you ski, two tennis rackets, and other similar articles).
- a videotape camera.
- a personal microcomputer.
- a team portable DVD.
- Personal devices that allow to extract or to introduce information in the personal computers and they are portable, such as: Memory flash, MP3, MP4, IPOD, calendar book, PALM and other similar ones.
The previous facilities and excuses will be been able to not to grant in the cases of tourists that you/they enter to Cuba more than once a month, or smaller than ten years.
It is reiterated that the entrance is not admitted to the country by passengers of walkie talkie, GPS and cellular of communication satelital.
Forbidden articles.
As much to the entrance as to the exit the passenger won't be able to take I get:
- drugs, narcotics and substances sicotrópicas or hallucinogenic, except for those of use doctor accompanied by the corresponding medical prescription.
- Explosive.
- Firearms and ammunition, unless they have expressed authorization of the Competent Organism.
- Hemoderivados.
- Literature, articles and obscene or pornographic objects or that they attempt against the general interests of the nation.
- Species protected by the Convention on the International Trade of Threatened Species of Fauna and Flora if it doesn't possess the Permission sent by the Competent Authority (CITES Permission).
Prohibitions to the Import (Entrance):
- The following electric teams: Freezers with a superior capacity to 7 feet; conditioners of air; you cook and burners, including resistances; ovens and microwaves; showers; freidoras; heaters of water; you iron whose consumption exceeds of 290 wats/hora without having dewed or of 703 wats/hora with having dewed and vapor; toasters of bread.
Regulated articles.
To the Import (Entrance)-Articles and Products Subject to Requirements: They require License or Previous Permission of the Computer science's Ministry and the Communications:
- Wireless fax teams; phone slates; devices for nets of data; wireless telephones except those that operate in the bands of 40-49 MHz, of the 2,4 GHz and of the 5 GHz; radio transmitters; radio transceptores, including walkie-talkie; receivers of radio professionals; park terrestrial and communication terminals for satellite, including parabolic antennas and telephones satelitales.
They require Previous Permission of the National Office of Hydrography and Geodesy:
- Systems of Positioning for Satellite (GPS), of any type.
They will be subject to the Inspection and Authorization of the Veterinary Authorities and Fitosanitarias:
- Alive animals, you plant and their parts, and the products of animal origin and vegetable are elaborated or not.
To the export (Exit) youe won't be able to take I get:
- More than three units of oneself medication of national production, except for those dedicated to the continuity of treatments, of agreement with the time of duration of the same ones and that they are accompanied by the Certification of the Center of Health and in the case of the passengers not permanent residents in Cuba, of the corresponding Official Invoice.
- You work patrimonial or with value museable, books, pamphlets and publications seriadas with more than 50 years of having published, as well as Cuban Books of Editions “R” if it doesn't possess the Certificate of Export of the Registration of Cultural Goods.
- Cuban Bent tobacco in superior quantity to 50 units if it doesn't present the Official Invoice of the store where the purchase was made.
- Lobster (line with frozen shell) that it doesn't possess Invoice that it credits their licit acquisition in the authorized stores.
- Money cash in superior quantity to $5000,00 USD or their equivalent one in other currencies that it has not been declared to the entrance or that it doesn't have the authorization corresponding of the Bank.
- More than 100 Pesos National Currency (CUP), neither more than 200 Convertible Cuban Pesos (CUC).
- Hand written books; incunabular (books understood between 1440 and 1500); books, pamphlets and publications printed foreign seriadas in the XVI centuries to the XVIII one (1501 at the 1800); books, pamphlets and publications seriadas published in Cuba in the XVIII century; books and pamphlets that have the stamp of libraries belonging to the National System of Public Libraries or other systems of information, as well as of organisms and Cuban institutions: THEY ARE NOT EXPORTABLE.
- Pieces and collections with numismatic value if it doesn't present the Authorization of the Numismatic Museum or of the Central Bank of Cuba.
If you acquire fresh paintings and sculptures in the sale points where these they are offered, make sure that they have the Stamp that authorizes their Export or request the corresponding Permission, indispensable requirement for the extraction of the country.
Declaration of Passenger.
The passengers when they bring besides their belongings, articles to care Cuba, they should fill the Declaration of Customses, all the information that is requested in the same one toasting.
The entrance of money cash to Cuba it is free, but if the quantity that the passenger behaves is superior to $5000,00 USD or his equivalent one in other currencies, it should fill the Declaration of Customses.
Valuation and Tariff Rate.
How is the import valued?
It is ability of the Customs to take like base for the determination of the value of the import, one of the following elements:
- The invoice;
- or the passenger's declaration;
- or the price approved in the national territory.
This last one is applied by the Customs before the founded suspicion of invoice or declaration with undervaluation, or for certain articles or teams with the purpose of speeding up the office.
That rights of customses have to pay and where I pay?
The applicable rate for rights of customses is progressive (100% - 150% - 200%) about the value accepted by the Customs. The progressive rate is applied in the following way.
- Up to 50 pesos - it is not paid rights (exempt).
- Of 51 to 250 pesos - (100% advalorem) you pays 1 weight for each import weight.
- Of 251 to 500 pesos - (150% advalorem) you pays 1.50 pesos for each import weight.
- Of 501 to 1000 pesos - (200% advalorem) you pays 2.00 pesos for each import weight.
Each traveler should also pay 2.00 pesos for concept of customs services. All the payments should be made in the local of Box enabled in the own airport, where they will give him a payment voucher that should be shown to the inspector that controls the exit of the living room of the customs. The rights of customses and those $2.00 for office services, they should not be paid to any other person, neither in another place that is not the enabled Box. If that reflected in the payment voucher doesn't coincide with that paid, you should go to the official customs officer that funge like boss in that moment (Boss of Shift or of Brigade, or Main Specialist), in order to formulate their complaint and to leave everything properly clarified.
