José Martí International Airport is located 18 kilometers southwest of the capital of Cuba and is the main airport in the country where most of the international flights from main points in Canada, South America, Europe and other destinations in the world are received daily, In addition to all domestic flights, is the main gateway to and from the country, where more than 2 million passengers move annually and is operated by ECASA (Empresa Cubana de Aeropuertos y Servicios Aeronáuticos SA).

There are five terminals operating at the airport. In terminal 1 operate the domestic flights of Cubana de Aviación and Aerocaribbean. Terminal 2 receives charter flights from Miami and Charters Corsair Airlines from France. Terminal 3 is the main and most modern terminal with the largest volume of traffic, which was built with Canadian technology and supervision. Terminal 5 receives Aerocaribbean flights and some other charter lines. Aerovaradero is the new cargo terminal, used mainly by Cargosur (Grupo Iberia) and Cubana Cargo.
